La 23ème Heure
La 23ème Heure is the third Hauvette & Madani collection, named for the hour before midnight: conversations trail off, the last glasses stay on the table, the house returns to silence. It began with rotary-cut birch, whose grain produces an almost silken moiré, and with a piece that could not be found anywhere, La Veillée, a salon chair. Lacquer meets wood, punctuated by coloured glass tops, satin and passementerie. The names run the night from end to end, from Le Grand Soir to L'Heure Bleue. Eight pieces, made to take on a patina and be passed on.
